Dubrovnik’s local bus network provides reliable connections between all neighbourhoods, suburbs, and the Old City. Buses run frequently throughout the day, offering an affordable and eco-friendly way to move around while avoiding parking challenges near the historic centre. Tickets can be purchased at kiosks or directly from the driver, though it’s worth noting that buying at kiosks is cheaper. A bus ticket is also included in the Dubrovnik Pass, making it even easier for visitors to get around the city and reach key attractions, beaches, and surrounding areas.
Boat
Exploring Dubrovnik by sea offers a unique perspective on the city’s coastline and nearby islands. Regular boat lines operate from both the Old City and Gruž port with the Elaphite Islands, Lokrum, and Cavtat, while numerous private boat operators provide flexible day trips and excursions. Travelling by boat is not only convenient but also one of the most memorable ways to experience Dubrovnik’s maritime heritage and natural beauty.
Car
Driving in Dubrovnik can be challenging due to limited parking. Access to the UNESCO-protected Old City is restricted, and only guests with prior registration or confirmed accommodation that includes parking are permitted to enter the so called “Special Traffic Regime Zone.” Outside the centre, however, visitors will find parking facilities, including public garages and lots, making it possible to use a car for exploring surrounding areas.
