The Church of St Joseph was built on the site of the Church of St James, one year after its destruction in the earthquake of 1667. The Church has a single nave with an apse which has undergone partition and its style is regarded as Baroque. It was built by the carpenter's fraternity; whose patron saint was St Joseph.
