Nestled in the unspoiled nature of Konavle, just a short drive from Dubrovnik, the Kojan Koral ranch and stables have for more than two decades combined adventure, active holidays and a connection with nature into a unique product that is increasingly finding its place in incentive programs and social events connected to business gatherings.
As the oldest and one of the best-known ranches in the Dubrovnik region, Kojan Koral has, since 2003, been developing experiences that allow guests to discover the Dubrovnik area in a completely different way, far from crowds, traffic and the rush of everyday life. This is exactly why horse riding through the landscapes of Konavle is becoming an attractive option for incentive travel organizers looking for authentic, sustainable and unforgettable activities for their participants.
An Activity That Connects People and Nature
Unlike classic teambuilding or incentive activities, horse riding offers a combination of relaxation, adventure and emotional connection with nature. Programs at Kojan Koral ranch are designed to be suitable even for complete beginners, making them ideal for international business groups of different profiles and levels of experience.
As many as 95 percent of guests sit on a horse for the very first time, while the easy pace of the tour and expert guides ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. Before the start, participants receive a short introduction to the basics of riding, meet the horses and receive protective equipment, after which the two-hour adventure through the nature of Konavle begins.
During the tour, guests pass through forest trails, rocky landscapes, old villages and stone streets, with panoramic views over the protected geomorphological and hydrographic reserve of the Konavle Cliffs. Particularly impressive are the rides through forest tunnels and untouched landscapes that allow participants to completely disconnect from business life.
The ranch points out that during the rides there is often almost no conversation between participants, nature, silence and the new experience create an atmosphere of total relaxation and presence in the moment.
An Authentic Konavle Experience with a Dalmatian Snack
Additional value is added to the incentive program through the combination of activity and local gastronomy. After returning from the tour, guests are welcomed with a genuine Dalmatian snack – a sandwich with prosciutto and cheese, homemade red or white wine and water. It is exactly these kinds of details that create the feeling of authenticity and local experience that today’s business travellers increasingly seek.
Kojan Koral ranch covers as much as 20,000 square metres, and besides the horses, the special atmosphere is created by the ranch’s other residents, pony Muki, goat Nelly and dog Tasha. The stables are home to seven carefully cared-for horses of the Quarter Horse, Haflinger, Paint Horse and Appaloosa breeds, known for their calmness, stability and excellent cooperation with riders.
The founder of the ranch, Pero Kojan, and his team have spent years developing the offer with great respect for the nature and landscape of Konavle. Alongside riding tours, off-road ATV and buggy adventures have also been developed over the years, as well as a special 25-kilometre trail passing through different types of terrain.
The Ideal Incentive Activity for Smaller and Exclusive Groups
Horse riding tours are organised for smaller groups of up to six riders, allowing for a personalised approach and a higher-quality experience for participants. Private tours and customised programs according to the wishes of organisers and clients are also possible.
The program includes optional transport from accommodation to the ranch and back, riding helmets, refreshments and expert guidance, while sports clothing and closed footwear are recommended. The standard duration of the tour is between two and two and a half hours, while the route itself is around 11 kilometres long. Kojan Koral is open for excursion visitors and organised tours from April until the end of October, while other dates are available by prior arrangement.
For incentive groups wishing to offer participants more than the classic sightseeing experience, horse riding through Konavle represents an activity that combines active time in nature, an authentic local story and a completely different view of the Dubrovnik region, beyond the city walls and far from the usual tourist routes.
