LUMIART 2026 – DUBROVNIK LIGHT FESTIVAL
LUMIART 2026 – DUBROVNIK LIGHT FESTIVAL
This year’s Lumiart Dubrovnik Festival of Light will take place from 16 to 18 October 2026, organised by the Dubrovnik Tourist Board in collaboration with Pixel Design and with the support of the City of Dubrovnik. Its theme and inspiration mark the 400th anniversary of the death of Marin Getaldić, one of Dubrovnik’s most prominent scientists, mathematicians and physicists.
His work in optics, geometry, mirrors and the study of light provides the starting point for this year’s creative concept, which will connect Dubrovnik’s scientific and cultural heritage with contemporary art and new technologies. These elements of science and Getaldić’s legacy will bring together the magic of light, projections, animation and electronic music, while the historic architecture will serve as a canvas and backdrop for contemporary visual content and another exciting encounter with the festival of light in the heart of Dubrovnik’s historic centre.
Over the three days of the festival, the sixth edition of Lumiart will transform Dubrovnik into a grand stage for light art. The festival programme will feature 3D mapping projections, light installations, audiovisual works by Croatian and international artists, and content connecting art, technology, science and Dubrovnik’s heritage. Numerous renowned audiovisual artists will come to Dubrovnik, bringing a touch of futurism to the Old Town, amidst its city walls, squares and palaces.
