Sacral Objects

Faith marked the history of the Republic—it was a refuge and comfort in times of hardship, and a symbol of the city's resilience on stone. A walk from the grand churches, which reflected the power and importance of faith in the lives of people of that time, to the small hidden chapels where suffering, secrets, and joys were shared with the Almighty, and the discovery of one of the oldest synagogues in Europe, brings us back to history, while at the same time strongly connecting us to the present—because most of Dubrovnik’s sacred buildings are still in use for worship today.
