Midsummer Scene Warmly Welcomes You to Season 10!

2024-06-22 — 2024-07-07

We invite you to take a seat in our main venue, the wonderful Fort Lovrjenac, and enjoy the musical „Around the World in Eighty Days“, performed in English, specially commissioned for our festival. Adapted and directed by Sean Aita, music by Leo Elso. It is inspired by the father of science fiction Jules Verne. Mr Verne was well-acquainted with the beauty of Dubrovnik, describing it as Slavic Athens in his 1885 novel Mathias Sandorf.

We have already travelled around the world: Austria, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Bermuda, to start. We mostly staged Shakespeare, including Twelfth Night, Hamlet, Romeo & Juliet and A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the play that gave our festival its name.

Dubrovnik has been known for his fast ships, explorers and travellers throughout history.

Join us on our journey around the world!
