2nd Ponta Lopud Jazz Festival
This year’s festival programming includes Jazz Master in Residence Kenny Werner and three Bands in Residence – Linda May Han Oh & The Glass Hours; Nicole Zuraitis Quartet; and Thana Alexa feat. Antonio Sánchez, Michael League & Antonio Mazzei – an impressive group of internationally renowned artists who will stay on the island as performers and mentors for the duration of the festival.
Each morning will begin with an open masterclass discussion together with our Jazz Master and members of each band in residence, followed by a second masterclass and/or “participant jam session” led by festival mentors (musicians from each of the performing bands). The purpose of these masterclasses is to enable young professionals to hone their craft and exchange creative ideas with world class musicians who bring a global perspective to Lopud.
A hand selected group of musicians from Croatia and neighboring countries have been personally invited to the island for the duration of the festival with the intention of creating community and inspiration by sharing daily intimate conversations about the state of the industry, performances, evening jam sessions and unforgettable experiences around the Dubrovnik region of Croatia.
