January 30, 2025 – Thursday 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM – DEŠA Association premises Makarule sauce making workshop – "From A to the perfect toč" Leader: Mirna Sentić The workshop is dedicated to discovering all the secrets of the perfect sauce for makarule, which we will make together from start to finish. While the sauce is slowly simmering, we will focus on shaping the makarule and quick gnocchi with cheese. At the end of the workshop, there will be a tasting of everything done – the perfect way to celebrate St. Blaisse while respecting tradition.
January 31, 2025 – Friday11:00 AM – 1:00 PM – DEŠA Association premisesWorkshop “Rose Flower Cake – Art on a Plate!”Leader: Ivana Bačić UhodićA culinary workshop inspired by local flavors and tradition! We will learn how to make the “Rose Flower” cake – a recipe designed with love for tradition and modern decoration techniques. Ingredients such as orange, walnuts and rose hips will combine into a harmonious dessert. We will put special emphasis on the decoration of the cake and its presentation on the plate. In addition, we will learn how to make modeling chocolate and apply creative decoration techniques.An inspiring atmosphere, lots of useful tips and opportunities for expression through pastry art await you.
February 2, 2025 – SundayBitter Orange Day – City Café, from 11:00 – while supplies lastOur traditional event “Bitter Orange Day” brings together Dubrovnik hotels, restaurants, pastry shops and bakeries, who donate desserts made from bitter orange jam. All funds raised this year are intended for Katarina Nobilo, a young woman who, with her courage and perseverance, shows us how any challenge can be overcome. Born with cerebral palsy, she has already made extraordinary strides with robotic therapy. Now she faces a new challenge – three key surgeries in Germany that can significantly improve her quality of life.Together, we can enable Katarina to take this crucial step. Every cake, every donation and every moment of your support brings us closer to our goal.
