Ana Rucner - Greeting the Summer
ANA RUCNER CELEBRATES 15 YEARS OF "GREETING THE SUMMER" –
A MUSICAL SPECTACLE CONNECTING DUBROVNIK AND ISTRIA
Cellist Ana Rucner is marking a major milestone this year – 15 years since her first "Greeting the Summer" concert on Mount Srđ, as well as the 3rd edition of the special "Sunset Edition" variant at the Archaeological Site Vižula in Medulin. These concerts are not just musical events – they are an experience, a fusion of nature, emotion, and music, held on the most special day of the year – June 21st, the first day of summer and the International Music Day.
Traditionally, Ana greets the morning in Dubrovnik exactly at 5:09 AM when the sun rises over Srđ, and ends the day in Medulin, seeing off the sun as it sets at 8:54 PM. In this way, she connects two regions that she holds deeply in her heart – Dubrovnik and Istria.
This year, to mark the great anniversary, her family will join her on stage – the Rucner String Quartet and guest soloist, violist and Ana’s brother Mario Rucner. This further emphasizes the strong family bond and love felt in every note of her performances.
Her now traditional performance would not be possible without the unconditional support of her family, who introduced her to the world of music, and loyal partners – Violeta, who takes care of preserving her carefully designed fashion combinations; Igor Dobranić, whose handiwork is behind the scenes; Zotto, who ensures Ana never runs out of the much-needed energy and nutritional support even during the most demanding preparations; and Atelier Rebula, which completes the overall impression of her stage presence with its elegant and refined scent notes.
Ana expresses her gratitude to the City of Dubrovnik, the Dubrovnik Tourist Board, the Municipality of Medulin, the Medulin Tourist Board, and partners Excelsa Real Estate, Dubrovnik Partner Agency, Restaurant Panorama, Thomastik-Infeld Vienna, Ranoco, Permansio, and the agency Art Hill, who enable her to experience this emotionally and physically demanding day with ease, filled with joy and the support of faithful spectators, for whom both Srđ and the Medulin Vižula site have long since become – too small.
