Dubrovnik, has so much more to offer than its iconic city walls. In three days, you can delve into the city's rich history, island-hop across the Elaphite archipelago, sample incredible food, and explore its hidden gems. This itinerary will help you make the most of your time in Dubrovnik.

Morning

Walk the City Walls and Dive into History

Start your adventure at Pile Gate, the grand entrance to Dubrovnik's Old City. Begin with a walk along the City Walls, a 2-kilometer loop that offers breath-taking views of the Adriatic and the city's terracotta rooftops. Don't miss Minčeta Tower, the walls' highest point, for spectacular panoramas.

Descend from the walls and immerse yourself in history. Start your exploration at Pile Gate, the grand entrance to Dubrovnik's Old City, before heading to the iconic Lovrjenac Fortress, perched high above the sea. Often referred to as Dubrovnik's "Gibraltar," this historic fortress played a key role in defending the city from naval threats. And whilst you are there check out the cute Pile streets with their stone façades and charming cafés. This is also a great spot to go sea kayaking from. Visit the Rector's Palace, a Gothic-Renaissance marvel that once housed the governing Rector. Fun fact – each Rector had only a one-month mandate. Then, stop by the Franciscan Monastery, home to one of Europe's oldest pharmacies, and don't miss the stunning cloisters and peaceful courtyard.

Top Tip: Start early to beat the crowds and bring a reusable water bottle to stay refreshed.

Midday

Lunch time in the Old City

Time for lunch inside the historic City Walls and the heart of the Old City. Indulge in black risotto, a local specialty made with cuttlefish ink, some fresh locally caught seafood or Šporki Makaruli (Dirty Macaroni), a pasta dish with a rich meat sauce, traditionally made for festive occasions like the Festivities of St. Blaise.

Dubrovnik's cuisine reflects its Mediterranean roots, with a strong emphasis on fresh, locally-sourced ingredients and traditional recipes passed down through generations.

Top Tip: Pair your black risotto with a glass of chilled Dubrovačka Malvasija, the region's signature white wine.

Once you're refreshed, take a dip in the crystal-clear waters at one of Dubrovnik's most popular swimming spots.
