Day 2: Island Hopping and Local Charm
Gruž Market and Elaphite Islands
Start your day at Gruž Market, Dubrovnik's main marketplace, where locals shop for fresh produce, seafood, and flowers. Take time to chat with vendors and pick up some local honey, olive oil, or dried figs for a taste of Dubrovnik to take home.
From the nearby port, catch a ferry to the Elaphite Islands—Koločep, Lopud, and Šipan. These islands are a slice of paradise with lush landscapes, sandy beaches, and quaint villages. It's time to do some island-hopping and with the regular ferry service this is relatively straightforward. With a private "three-island" tour you can easily visit all three islands in one day. And with the public ferry service visiting two is just as accessible.
Top Tip: Arrive early at Gruž Market for the best selection and enjoy breakfast at one of the nearby cafés before boarding the ferry.

Explore Lopud and Šipan
Lopud is a car-free island perfect for relaxing on Šunj Beach or exploring the ruins of old monasteries. For lunch, head to Šipan and enjoy a seafood feast at a family-run konoba, or taverna.
Try buzara, a dish of shellfish simmered in wine and garlic.
Top Tip: Bring comfortable shoes if you plan to hike or explore inland paths.

Relax and Unwind
Return to Dubrovnik in the evening for a laid-back dinner in one of the Old City's hidden alleyways. Pair freshly caught seafood with a glass of Plavac Mali, a robust red wine from the Pelješac Peninsula.
Top Tip: Opt for outdoor seating, al fresco, to enjoy Dubrovnik's enchanting evening ambiance.
